Yr 5 Solar system lesson in the SUN!
Y5 learned about the huge distances between the planets and how the planets have different year lengths due to the speed at which they orbit the sun. Did you know that Neptune takes 165 Earth years to travel around the Sun so its year is actually 165 earth years long! One planet has a day which is longer than its year.! Can you find out? They also learnt about how the Earth spins completely every 24 hours to give us night and day.
The Sun shone and the children all had a great time. It is so good to be able to use our beautiful outside SPACE for lessons!
